Comparison of Four Heating Methods for Glass lined Reactor

The operating temperature of the glass-lined reactor is relatively high, and usually chemical reactions can only be carried out under certain temperature conditions, so the reactor can withstand both pressure and temperature. There are usually several methods of heating.

① Water heating can be used when the temperature is not high, and there are two types of heating systems: open and closed. The open type is relatively simple, consisting of a circulating pump, water tank, pipeline, and a regulator that controls the valve. When high-pressure water is used, the mechanical strength of the equipment is required to be high. The outer surface of the glass lined reactor is welded with a snake tube, which has a gap between the snake tube and the kettle wall, increasing the thermal resistance and reducing the heat transfer effect.

② When the steam heating temperature is below 100C, steam below latm can be used for heating; Within the range of 100-180C, use saturated steam; When the temperature is higher, high-pressure superheated steam can be used.

③ If heating with other media is required by the process to operate at high temperatures or to avoid using high-pressure heating systems, other media can be used instead of water and steam, such as mineral oil (275~300C), diphenyl ether mixture (boiling point 258C), molten salt (140~540C), liquid lead (melting point 327C), etc.

④ Electric heating wraps the resistance wire around the insulation layer of the reaction kettle cylinder or installs it on a special insulator at a certain distance from the glass lined reactor, thus forming a small spatial gap between the resistance wire and the reaction kettle body
