How to use a glass lined reactor correctly

As an excellent corrosion-resistant equipment, glass lined reactor vessels have been widely used in multiple industry fields. In order to ensure their excellent performance, there are some preparations that need to be understood before starting formal use.

1. The operator must undergo safety and job training, be familiar with the structure and performance of the equipment, and be proficient in the equipment and process operating procedures.

2. Check the cleanliness of the glass lined reactor, agitator, and rotating parts. The auxiliary pumps, indicating instruments, safety valves, pipelines, and valves meet safety requirements. Check whether the opening and closing status of pipeline valves meets the requirements for the direction of process material transportation. Ball valves should generally be in a fully open or fully open state, and a half open state can easily damage the internal seal of the valve.

3. The main and auxiliary operators double check the chemical properties, quantity, adaptability to equipment material and capacity of the process materials to be fed into the high-level tank, understand the requirements for corrosion resistance, nitrogen protection, and other aspects. Check if the heating, cooling, and stirring speeds meet the requirements.

4. Ensure that there is no shortage of oil in the gearbox, base bearings, and sealing box of the glass lined reactor machine, and that the cooling water of the machine pump is unobstructed.

5. For mixing equipment that has been shut down and repaired for a long time, it is necessary to reconfirm whether the transmission part is intact, turn the part or jog the motor, and check whether the mixing shaft rotates clockwise and strictly reverses.

6. Connect the vacuum and recheck the sealing condition of the system. If the system uses glass lined sheet cooling, it is necessary to discharge the circulating water between the sheet cooling jacket to a water pressure of 0.15Mpa (gauge pressure) during vacuum pumping to avoid sheet cooling deformation and damage during vacuum.

After the above checks are normal, vacuum suction or pump feeding can begin. It is necessary to strictly follow the process requirements of the glass lined reactor, add materials in sequence, and do not arbitrarily change the feeding order. The quantity of materials added must not exceed the process requirements to ensure efficient work.
