Corrosion prevention and maintenance of glass-lined equipment

-It is strictly prohibited to pass corrosive medium into the jacket, especially acidic medium:

 the glass-lined layer of the bottom of the glaze layer, the bottom of the glaze layer is porous, the hydrogen atoms penetrate into the pore space will be formed in the hydrogen, 

with the continuous penetration of hydrogen atoms, the hydrogen in the pore space of the pressure is getting higher and higher, to a certain extent, it will cause the glass layer 

of the large-scale bursting of the glass-lined ceramic.


-The exposed metal surface of glass lining equipment should be treated with anticorrosive treatment:

Corrosive gases in the workshop air will condense to the surface of the equipment and corrode the base metal. Above the equipment or pipeline leakage, corrosive media drops

 to the glass-lined equipment will also make the base metal is seriously corroded, corrosive media in the hydrogen atom penetration and caused by the burst of porcelain. So we 

suggest you should often use clean water to rinse the surface of the equipment will slow down the occurrence of corrosion. The correct method is to do a layer of anti-corrosion 

layer and then do the insulation of the external surface of the equipment.


-If you find the flange sealing surface leakage should be eliminated as soon as possible:

Corrosive media in the equipment from the flange leaks out, will gradually corrode the metal from the outer edge of the flange to the inside, causing the glass lining layer 

gradually fall off. A long time, the leakage point of the sealing surface of the glass lining layer will fall off, the flange metal matrix is seriously corroded to form a crippled and 

pitted, thus leading to equipment scrapping. In addition, corrosive gases leaking out of the equipment encountered cold air condensation to the outer edge of the flange 

surface, also cause corrosion. When the equipment began to leak a lot, the user has to repair, the equipment flange has been corroded quite seriously, and even can not be 

repaired. This phenomenon is quite common, I hope to be able to give users a wake-up call, prevention is better than cure.


-Avoid strong corrosive medium directly collision glass lining surface

Strong corrosive, strong oxidizing medium is more harmful to the glass lining layer. Try not to be the first to join the reaction tank. It is better to use a feeding tube to add 

materials slowly at the bottom of the reaction tank, so that the materials will be diluted quickly due to the role of stirring, thus reducing the corrosion of the equipment. 

There is another advantage of using a feeding tube, to protect the glass-lined layer of the tube mouth. Some users directly through the mouth of the tube to strengthen 

the corrosive medium, which will cause damage to the mouth. For example, directly through the mouth of the tube with concentrated sulfuric acid, its strong corrosion 

will be on the mouth of the glass lining layer of serious corrosion. In addition, concentrated sulfuric acid meets the water on the wall of the orifice will release a lot of heat, 

which will cause the local temperature of the orifice to rise suddenly, destroying the glass-lined layer.
